3 friends in their mid twenties were very fascinated with the moon. They loved studying it just to see what causes the changes of the moon. One night they had a sleepover and one friend mentioned that her Uncle works for NASA. There were ooohs and aaahs when her friends found this out. They all called her Uncle that night to see if there was any chance they could go onto the moon.
Her Uncle answered the phone "Hello?" "Hi Uncle Jon, it's Keira. I was wondering if there was any chance my friends and I could....." She paused. This was one of the hardest questions to ask her Uncle who was insanely overprotective of her. "What's wrong honey?" Was all Uncle Jon said. "Uncle Jon....you know how fascinated my friends and I are of the moon and we were wondering...... is there anyway you could get us a space shuttle to go to the moon so we can fufill our dreams?" He didn't say anything back. All Keira heard was the 'click' when he hung up. He didn't even say goodbye. They all began to cry. They shouldn't have gotten their hopes up was all they could say to themselves.
Uncle Jon called 3 months later. "Keira, you're scheduled for takeoff in 3 weeks. I'll meet you girls at 5 am 4 days before takeoff at NASA. I'll teach you the ropes and you girls will be all set." "Thank you so much Uncle Jon. You have no idea how much this means to us." "Anytime kiddo, anytime. See you in a couple weeks. Love you." "Love you too Uncle Jon." All they could do was scream with excitement. This was going to be the thrill of a lifetime!

The girls spent 3 weeks of waiting and getting ready. Soon Keira's uncle called and to come to the NASA the very next day. The girls got ready. The next day the girls went to the NASA building and met Keira's uncle. it was about 3:30 when the girls arrived. They spent the next few days learning all the gears and controls of the rocket they in just a few days would be taking off to the moon! Do you find this valuable?

One week, two weeks, three weeks. Finally it was training time. Keira and her friends, Sara and Dana, got up on time and got to the shuttle right on the dot. They all were very excited and curious. Finally, the giant, silver doors swung open and through it walked Uncle Jon.
"Good morning ladies! Are you ready for your first day of training?"
"Of course we are! Lets go!" shouted Sara.
First they put all three of the young ladies int a model of the real ship they would be flyin gin. They showed them how to work the buttons and what to do in a real emergency. Dana was a little skeptical at first, but after a while she finally got the hang of it. Next, they entered this large room with the a swimming pool the size of four football fields. They all had to put on real space suits and get into the water and pretend that they were acually onthe moon. All of them had fun, but they had to constantly remind themselves to pay attention and to stop fooling around. Unlce Jon was getting nervous because he saw how disfocused the girls were. He was very firm about explaining the consequences that they would face if they were fooling arounfd in space. He told them thst this was no joke and this was a bit risky. They agreed to jeep their heads on straight and to really focus. At the end of this long scabble he reminded them to also have fun and observe the moon because this is literally a one in a lifetime thing. Its not every day when you get to go to the moon. As soon as the girls left they all returned to their houses. They were instructed to excerise, eat healthy and to goet more sleep than usual. They had to be in tip-top shape for the moon. One day, two dys, three days, and finally four days. It was takeoff time!!!!!! The girls husted to he shuttle and got into suits. They got inot the ship and did just what they had done four days earlier. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, BLASTOFF!!
